Magic RSS Help
I got the feed showing great on my web page. Now I'm trying to tweak the parameters of my feed but no matter what I change, the feed looks the same. Am I missing something?
Why, yes you are! This has to do with the cache. If you have caching enabled, the Magic RSS will save the feed in the "rsscache" directory after the first time it is called. The feed will not be updated for the cache period (nominally 12 hours, but you can change the cache time for each feed in the settings). Cache is good because after the first time, your page will load right away instead of having to wait for the remote page. However, if you are tweaking the feed, you should disable cache. Do the following: First, create and install a feed which has the cache disabled (using &noCache=1 in the tag). Second, DELETE the currently cached feed from the rsscache directory so a new version reloads. Play with your feed until it is right and then remove the noCache parameter if you like.
